You might have noticed the sanitary dispenser on the side of the toilet. You know the one that is usually used as a shelf for extra toilet paper? In a project together with Tork and Essity me and a small team developed a sanitary dispenser that was more inclusive and we also worked carefully with Torks visual brand identity. With the help of research where around 500 menstruating people participated we could identify a few pain points that were removed by the new product. One pain point was the “duck-walk” with your pants around your ankles that is done from the toilet to the sink after changing a tampon or pad. We also identified multiple misuse of the current solution. The result was a product called SaniTork. During this project I learned a lot about not only designing for the user but also with the interest of the company in mind.
